5th Annual SOCKtober Drive: Local Boy, 12, Sets Example of Serving Others

Socks are on the top of the needs list for homeless men, women and children in our community. “Socks from the Heart to the Homeless” and the annual SOCKtober Drive were launched in 2011 by then eight year old Matthew Johnson who wanted to do something to help people in need. I’m humbled by Matthew’s compassion, drive, and generosity, and was pleased to  help him collect socks during the month of October.  – Phil Serna
