Funding for the Entertainment Sports Complex and the County Parks System

The City of Sacramento requested the County participate in the financing plan for the Entertainment and Sports Complex (ESC) through the commitment of possessory interest taxes generated by the project and by allowing the commercial use of County parking facilities during events at the Complex. County resources will be used solely for the purpose of financing the ESC and the City will not use these resources to supplant other City funding or finances. In addition, a portion of the revenues generated from County parking facilities would be dedicated to provide financial support to County Regional Parks.

The resolution before the Board generally endorses these concepts and directs staff to negotiate implementing documents with the City for the Board’s future consideration.

On Tuesday, February 28th the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors approved the resolution: 4-1.
