Over the course of two days and a total of nearly 13 hours of public hearing, not to mention with the input of more than 120 public speakers and 1,100+ emails, the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors approved the FY 2020/21 Revised Recommended Budget complete with funding restoration in critical areas like foster care, Women Infant & Child (WIC) services, facilities to protect our senior citizens, behavioral and mental health, and enhanced accountability and transparency for county law enforcement agencies, including a proposal by Supervisor Serna to outfit our highly-valued probation officers with body cameras. All of this on top of enhancing significant investments in public health to address the impact of COVID-19 on the community.
